Construction: As of August, 2011, construction is in progress on the Veterans Memorial Wall with the dedication taking place on September 10th, 2011, Veterans Appreciation Day. The Wall is 30’ x 6’ x 8” and will be construction in such a fashion as to allow the addition of expansion wings at a later date.
What Is The Veterans Memorial Wall: The Memorial Wall will have the ashes of an Unknown Soldier entombed in the wall. A 12” x 12” x 0.354” granite plate, will be laser inscribed with “Unknown Soldier, 82nd Airborne Div”, to Honor and Cover the Unknown Soldier’s final resting place. Additionally, Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, Marine Corps, Department of the Air Force and Coast Guard logos will be laser inscribed on the same size granite plate, as mentioned above, and set in the Memorial Wall. Veterans can have a 4” x 8” x 0.354” brick, laser inscribed, with up to four lines of copy.
Who Is Eligible: Any Veteran, of Any Branch of Service, with an Honorable Discharge, of Any Residence, of Any Time of Service, Living or Deceased, can have a granite brick placed on the Memorial Wall. Proceeds from the purchase of a brick will be used to install a brick in honor of any Veteran who has served or is presently serving. A portion of the proceeds will be utilized for provide perpetual maintenance and upkeep of the Veterans Memorial Wall.
The Brick: The brick can include art work such as Airborne Jump Wings or an Insignia of Rank. It is a requirement that submitted art work be 600 dpi. This means that high quality Art work need to be emailed to email@example.com. Six-Hundred DPI means that the are work has to be printer quality. Art work will be left justified and centered thus taking away from the total number of characters per line.
The Cost: The cost of a Memorial Brick, laser inscribed, will be $25.00. Print the .pdf form, read, enclose your payment or money order made payable to American Legion Post 217, PO Box 361, Warsaw, MO 65355. On the Memo Line write Memorial Wall.Layout examples are below.
